Yep...not even a month after your visit to Children's, we are back in the hospital with the same stuff. UGH, you poor baby! This time it seems like you were so much more miserable. You cried much more, but yet recovered faster and we were only in there for 2 days this time. You are 9 1/2 months and it was the weekend before Thanksgiving. So I just went ahead and stayed home with you the rest of the week so you could really revocer this time in your own home....and will LOTS of love of course.

For your first Halloween, you were a queen bee. You were the cutest trick 'r' treater out there! YES, we took you trick or treating! You loved it. Ok so I have been so bad about blogging. I forgot all about it....or more less you keep us quite busy. It is now November and you are 9 months old and MY how much you have changed! You started doing the army crawl at 6 1/2 months old. My grandpa says you are advanced and will be walking by 10 months. I can't even imagine! You have really become vocal by 7 months and started really taking off crawling. You are FAST! You chase after Lola and Lucy all the time to pull on their ears and crawl all over them. Lola doesn't mind at all, now Lucy runs from you! ha-ha it is the cutest thing ever! You LOVE yourself in the mirror! You will play forever in our full length mirror. You sat up completely by yourself at 8 months. You are also saying mamamama as well. :) I like to just stop you after ma-ma, but you keep going. You are shaking your head no, and mimick grunts, laugher, and clicking your tongue. You are just the cutest baby there has ever been. Not to mention the easiest! God truly blessed us when he sent you to us. We just can't figure out what we did before you and how it had any relevance! You are the easiest baby, the best sleeper. We have never had to stay up late with you at night rocking you trying to get you to go to sleep. You have always just gone to bed on your own. We can set you in your crib wide awake with your blankie, and you just go right to sleep. You LOVE your pink blankie. It can put you to sleep anywhere at any time. It is the sweetest thing. You go to sleep everyday at 7 pm on the spot. If you aren't in your crib you let us know you are tired and we just go lay you down. You have been sleeping through the night since you were 4 months old. I mean we couldn't ask for a better baby! You love to shop with me, go to dinner with me and my girlfriends. You slept through my Bunco party and all our yelling and excitement. You have spoiled us.
All until 8 1/2 months old. We had the worst scare ever. You were fussy one night, which was unusual,but we figured it was just teething because you hadn't had any break through yet. At 4 am I finally tried to rock you to sleep. You were cold and clammy and breahting sooooo hard. I woke your dad up to tell him we were going to the ER. Before we left we googled all the things it could possibly be to see if we were overreacting. Everything said you had croup, so we walked you around the cool outside tried to feed you, but nothing worked. At 6 we were on our way to the ER. You finally fell asleep in the car. So we went back home. When you woke up I still didn't like how hard you were breathing. So we went to the Dr. office. They gave you 2 steroid breathing treatments but they didn't work. We had to take you to Children's Hospital. When we got there, they put you on oxygen, IV for fluids because you were dehydrated and more breathing treatments. By this time it was 11 am. You were exhausted. You weren't even putting up a fight with the nurses because you hadn't slept, you had been crying all night, and all the energy it took you just to breathe. We spent the next 2 1/2 days in the hospital with you on oxygen and being monitored. Turns out you had RSV, and rhinovirus. Basically a bad cold that ended up settling in your chest and was restricting your breathing. Your dad and I took turns staying home with you the rest of the week. I have to admit, I hated it and was scared but loved getting to be with you 24 hrs a day for 4 days straight. I wish I could do that more often. While we were in the hospital you had your 2 top front teeth break through too. Talk about a big weekend. Poor baby!!!!
So now you are 9 months old and all over the place, back to your happy smiling healthy self! We look forward to our family time weekends so much. They seem to go by faster than ever!

New adventures

So as of this pas Father's Day weekend, you are now rolling. Not just rolling over from your tummy to your back, but you will go from your back to your tummy and then keep rolling. I love it. I think you love it even more, because you have realized you are now mobile! You totally roll off your play mat and then get mad because you can't see yourself in the mirror anymore! ha-ha! It is so cute.
You have also started laughing. Not just your little breathing in kind of noise that showed us you were happy and enjoying what we were doing. I mean you actually laugh at us. Especially Micky Mouse Club House cartoon. You love that show. Any other cartoon can be on and you might stare at the TV for a little bit. But when Micky Mouse Clubhouse comes on, it has your full undivided attention and you will LAUGH at it. You also laugh at daddy or I when we play with you. I love it, you have the cuteset laugh ever!
You are starting to outgrow some of your 0-3 month onesies and nighties. Your feet are getting to big for the footie spots and the length is too short when you stretch out. I think I have just been holding on to you being little and not wanting you to get big. So I had to go get you some 3-6 month nighties so you can sleep comfortably. (tear) You are becoming such a big baby now! Eating rice cereal, rolling over and over, laughing....I mean what is next sitting up! Oh you are such an adventure.

4 month check up

So you did great at your 4 month check up. You definitely didn't like your vaccinations and took them a lot worse than at the 2 month check up. It broke my heart, but I know it needs to be done. I loved getting to spend the first half of a Friday with you and not rushing off to work. You have grown to 24 inches (50%) and all the way up to 13 lbs (50%). We are getting to start single grain rice cereal now to try and get you ready for baby food and learn to swallow. I can't wait to see your reaction.

Father's Day

So for our first Father's Day you stayed awake ALL DAY! There were no naps, no sleeping nothing. For the entire weekend that is. Sat you only had a 1 hr nap from 9-10 in the morning. So I thought we were in for it on Father's Day. However, you were still your smiling little self. Daddy says it's because you know that the weekend is the only time you get to spend ALL day with us so you want to stay awake for every minute! I guess he is right because you did this all weekend and didn't seem to mind. We kept trying to put you down for a nap after your bottles, but you would wake up after about 10 minutes of sleeping ready to play! Amazing I know! For Father's Day I had a shirt made for you to wear just for Daddy. He loved it along with all his other gifts! You were the sweetest baby this weekend (just like all the others). We are so blessed to have you in our lives!

4 months old

You are now 4 months old and growing so fast. Every day there is something new. Maybe a new face, sound, or movement. You have started grabbing your feet. You haven't seen them yet, but you are able to grab and hold on to them. You are still the best morning baby I have ever seen. You will sleep in if we let you. Sometimes 8 sometime 9am! We love it! During the week we have to wake you up to get ready to go to daycare with Irene. I hate having to do this, but you still wake up with a smile and laugh for me. Ohhh I love you so much!

You have started smiling all the time now. Not just when something is funny or surprises you or when you have gas...but you smile just when we meet eyes! I love it. It is the most precious thing ever. I can only imagine what it is going to be like when you start talking (really talking).

This was your first trip down to see your Nana in Houston. You did so good on the drive. It's as if you didn't mind at all. We played Beauty and the Beast in the DVD player, but you didn't have much interest in it. You wanted to look and me and buzz, spit, and coo most of the time. After about 2 hours you fell asleep for almost the rest of the way. You woke up after about 4 hrs of driving and we had to stop to change and feed you. We had the best time with Roberto's family and you really seemed to have enjoyed yourself. Now, the trip home was a different story. You did not want to be in that car seat after the first hour. But after 6.5 hours and a couple of stops for you we made it home. All in all a good trip.

So when we came home from Nana and Papa's on Memorial Day weekend I sat you down for some tummy time since you were getting cranky. That always seems to put you in a good mood. This time, you just picked your head right up and looked around. Not just for a second either. You picked it up high and just kept looking around and watching everything as though life looked different from that angle. We have it on video and all kinds of pictures. We were so excited and proud! Not to mention a little confused on how you just starting doing it so well!

So we took you swimming at Cade's 7th birthday party on May 30th. You really seemed to enjoy it. As long as you were close to me you were happy. Not one cry the entire time. Not to mention every one just LOVED your swim suit and hat! We had to block that sun from your pretty face (even though we swam in the shade).

Nap Nanny

Here you are at 4 months now still sitting in your nap nanny. This thing was our saving grace when you had your reflux. You were supposed to stay elevated and not lay down flat to keep the reflux under control. Well do you know how hard it is to keep a baby happy sitting up all the time. Until we found this! It was awesome and you loved it. You slept for 7 hours straight (at eight weeks) the first night we had it. You had just worn yourself out crying all the time. I felt terrible! Now at 4 months you are starting to get a little big for it, but you still like it. You throw your legs over the side and just chill.

Last night Roberto was video recording Miss J because she is just too cute and started buzzing now. Well as he is recording I hear him getting excited and start yelling. I run in the living room to see her ROLL OVER! For the very first time, all by herself!I I couldn't believe it, and the fact that we got it on video too! Ohh we were so excited, you would have thought we just won the lottery! I will post the video once I upload it to the computer, I just didn't want to forget the date. 6/1/2010 was Jaelyn's first roll over. :)

Every night you have your last bottle between 9 and 10 and fall asleep in my arms as I get to rock you. This is by far my most FAVORITE time of the day!!!

You still don't like sleeping on your back. I think you lasted for maybe 2 minutes like this. Then woke up and I had to turn you over to your tummy. You just love your tummy and sleep so good on it.

At 9 weeks (almost 10) I took you to have your pictures taken. I had no idea how it would turn out and how you would act. However, since we had your reflux under control you were absolutely wonderful! You just laid there and let the photographer move you around, turn your head, flip you over, dress you up, and you never made a peep. You did however decide to pee on me while trying to position you once. It was such a surprise! The pictures turned out just absolutely beautiful, I couldn't have asked for a better day to have chosen to take you. Yet again, I think you just love having your pictures taken anyway.

Easter Sunday

8 weeks

After 8 weeks of you screaming and crying all the time and not knowing what was causing it, we finally figured it out. You would just cry constantly and claw and fight me when I would try to console you. It just seemed like you were in so much pain and we couldn't do anything to help you. The pediatrician had us change your formula like 5 times. I was running on fumes and took you to Wichita Falls for the weekend. That is when Crystal Johnson and I were talking and she told me Savannah had done the exact same thing and it was all because of reflux! So we took you to the Dr. once again and got you on some medicine and low and behold the miracle worked! You were like a different baby within 3 days. You slept through the nights (6 hrs) you weren't crying anymore, you were starting to smile a lot and coo and try to mimic us saying "Oh" and "ah". Oh I felt just horrible that it took us 8 weeks to figure out something so simple. But you NEVER spit up so it was the last thing anyone thought it would be.

Your dad took me to Ruth's Chris Steak house, my favorite steak house, for our 1st Anniversary. We left you for the first time with someone other than family for 2 hours. We had a great time and came home and even took a bite of the top of our acutal wedding cake. I cant say that it freezes too well for a year! But it was worth it.

Lucy loves to sit by you while you are on your playmat and just stare. She can't wait for you to get older so you can play with her. She just LOVES kids!

You love your tummy time. You never complain and will lay and stare at me while I lay next to you. You will turn your head side to side until you finally get tired and just go to sleep. You will sleep for hours on your tummy. You sleep better on your tummy than you do your back.

Papa to the rescue

So Papa was a great babysitter and let mom and Nana go out shopping. We said we would be back in under an hour and of course we were gone for over 3 and it was feeding time again. Papa, being the great dad and papa he is, didn't hesitate and had it all figured out. He changed you, fed you, and had you sleeping peacefully when we got home. I think you might have worn him out though. He wouldn't admit it, but the picture tells a different story. Priceless!

She just loves her play mat that Julie bought her. She sits there and just stares at herself in the big mirror, then it's almost as if she is already trying to reach out and grab the toys hanging. I know she is only 3 1/2 weeks, but she really is going after something!

Today was Jaelyn's first smile (that was on purpose) On SAt. March 6, 2010 I was kissing on her hands and she looked right at me and smiled with a purpose! I know it was intentional and not just gas. It was one of the greatest moments since she was born! I can't wait for more to come!

Real Tears

Today 2/25/2010 was our 2 week check up with Dr. Geutersloh. She did so good. Even when they had to prick her heel for the blood test she didn't even cry. She just wrinkled her forhead. However, when we had to undress her to weigh and measure her, she decided to let the crying begin. She finally made her crying seem more real to me and had her first TEARS! Oh it made me just want to hold her until she felt all safe in mommy's arms. It just broke my heart to see those big tears come out of her little eyes.

At the check up she is up to 6lbs 12 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. She is in the bottom 10% for her weight but the top 50% for length. She will get there on the weight. We had to switch her formula this weekend to Sensitive so she could eat a little more and not be so gassy and fussy. This one seems to be working great. She is up to eating almost 3 oz every 3-4 hours. YEAH JAEYLYN!!!

She is just too cute all dolled up to see her Pediatrician!

My mom took such great care of us the first week we were home. She took Lola and Lucy for their walks, which they appreciated very much! She did all our laundry, cooked home cooked meals, helped me take care of Jaelyn and we loved every minute of it. We can't wait for her to come back!

Miss Jaelyn's BIG Debut!

So on February 10, 2010 at 1:00am my water broke as I was letting out one of our dogs to potty. Not being ready to go to the hospital since little Jaelyn decided to come 12 days early, we scrambled around the house trying to figure out what all we needed to take with us. We arrived at Baylor of Frisco by 2:15am and the contractions had started. Epidural by 3:15 am and pushing began by 5:30am. At 6:37 am Miss Jaelyn Ashley Martinez makes her big debut! She was a whopping 6lbs 10oz. 19 1/4 inches long! She was absolutely perfect. The labor was a breeze. I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

I just can't express the joy and love I had when I got to finally hold her! I am so glad she came early, I could hardly wait any longer!

Daddy getting to hold her after she put her foot prints on his chest and he got to cut her umbilical cord. He was over joyed with his new daughter!

Baby Shower #3 (work)

Today my co workers threw me a baby shower. It was great! We got lots of wonderful stuff I can't wait to take home and get all set out and ready for Jaelyn! Everyone was so sweet and we played fun games, even though some of us were die hard players! haha it was fun!

The cake from Celebrity Bakery was so good! I think I gained yet another 5 lbs this week! Ugh! It's going to be tough losing this baby weight. This picture makes me think I just had work done on my teeth and my mouth is still swollen! haha Oh well, I enjoyed every minute of my pregnancy! I guess it shows. Just trying to make a healthy baby! :)

On January 23, 2010 Monica, Crystal, Julie, and mom threw me a beautiful baby shower in Wichita Falls. We had a great turn out and got so many wonderful gifts. I had no idea a baby needs so much! I also got lots of great advice (written down so I won't forget). I have some of the BEST friends and family ever. They did a wonderful job and made me feel so good. I can't wait to dress Jaelyn up in all the cute clothes, bows, booties, etc. I will have to be a good blogger and keep up with my posts after she gets here so everyone can see all the wonderful things she has gotten. This girl is already so spoiled rotten!

I had a beautiful shower with my Dallas friends on January 17, 2010. We had it at our house so I could show off the amazing nursery to everyone. I am so proud of Roberto's handy work. The shower was so fun, we played fun games, ate great food, and I unwrapped lots of great gifts! I can't wait to get to use everything. The cake was so cute, I hardly wanted to cut into it! I have great friends and can't wait for all of them to get to meet little Jaelyn.

After a lot of hard work and learning, Roberto has finnished the nursery. It looks absolutely amazing, and just as I had it in my mind. I couldn't ask for a better husband. He has been so helpful during the pregnancy. He did the nursery all by himself, with my decorating tips of course :), he gives me massages when I need them, and he is so patient with me. I can't wait for Jaelyn to meet her wonderful dad! He is going to be amazing I know it. I think the nursery is beautiful and she will love all the bright colors and things going on in there. It is going to be her little place! I am just so excited. It makes waiting for her arrival even harder now that I can sit and look at this all day every day!

28 weeks and we're over half way there!

So we are now 28 weeks. Over half way there. I must admit it has been a very easy pregnancy. No complications, not one day of sickness, nothing. I feel great and sometimes even forget I am even pregnant. I am definitely showing now, as you can see. She is kicking and moving around all the time now. I love feeling her and knowing she is active and healthy in there. I am very blessed and lucky that my first pregnancy is going this easy. I just hope it will stay this way for the entire pregnancy and we deliver a healthy happy little girl!

Nursery In Progress

So now that we know it's a girl, the decorating can begin. The first thing I picked out of course was the crib bedding. Everything is being coordinated with it and it's colors because I just fell in love with it. My sister gave me some great idea of how to have the bright fuschia pink and it not be too overwhelming by having the white bead board on the bottom to offset it a little. So I went and picked out the colors and Roberto got started! Let me tell you, he was quite the handy man and learned A LOT while making this nursery special for Jaelyn. I just know it's going to fit her personality perfectly!

18 weeks and counting

So, here is a picture of the belly at 18 weeks. Only 4 1/2 months along and you can see her starting to grow. This is about right when we found out it was a girl too! It made the belly that much more meaningful just knowing a little bit more about it. It's the greatest feeling in the world. Still no sickness or anything. So far a very easy pregnancy!

What's in a name?

So after reading several books, magazines, and friends & family suggestions, Roberto and I finally decided on a name. JAELYN! As soon as I saw it I fell in love with it. When I showed it to Roberto, he was the same way. It was actually text to me from my friend Laura Spence, as a joke....and it ends up being the WINNER! ha-ha Who would have imagined. It isn't in many books yet, I haven't heard many kids with the same name either. My Dr. said she hasn't delivered a Jaelyn and she loved it too. After about 2 months of still looking and debating to make sure we were making the right decision that we would love for the rest of our lives, we decided there was no other name we loved more. Now if the middle name could just be this easy! I guess the saying "When you know you know" is really true for many things.

Nursery Bedding

So I finally narrowed it down and ordered the nursery bedding. I found an amazing deal on ebay. I have a feeling ebay and I are going to become best friends here in the near future :)

Sonogram #2

So Baby Martinez is growing just wonderfully. She is now 10 oz. The sonographer said she is a very active little baby, but I still don't feel her all the time. I can't wait until I constantly feel her kicking and moving about. We got 5 cute little pictures of her for her scrapbook! It is just amazing how big she has gotten and how much more she will grow in 4 months!!! It really blows my mind the little miracle that is inside me.

2nd greatest thing in the world!

Last night as I was laying in bed winding down from the day, I felt something in my stomach. I figured it was just gas as usual, but this time it wasn't! Then it came a second time and a third. This little girl was on the move, and of course when I am trying to go to sleep! Figures, right! ha-ha. I didn't care though, it was the greatest feeling in the world to finally feel her in there moving around. I layed there very still for abotu 10 more minutes waiting for some more movement, but nothing. I guess she was just getting herself positioned for bed the same way I do....by thrashing around until I am comfortable! Ohhhhh I can't wait to feel it again. I wanted to stay home from work all day today so I could just lay there and hope to feel something.

IT"S A GIRL!!!!

So I changed Dr.'s halfway through my pregnancy and I couldn't be more happy. On my first appt. Dr. Welborn did a sonogram and there it was A GIRL! I couldn't have been happier to hear the good news. Excpet Roberto was in New York visiting family so I had to wait to tell everyone until I could tell him when he got home. Boy was that the hardest kept secret I have EVER had in my life! So I might have slipped and told one or two people ha-ha :) So when Roberto got home 5 days later, I told him. He was a little disappointed that he isn't going to have his little major leaguer, but he is still excited it's a girl! He is coming around and I kow as soon as he sees her little face he isn't going to be able to let her out of his sight. Now on to planning the nursery! How exciting!!!!

A day long awaited for...

Roberto and I have been married since March 28, 2009. We decided on our honeymoon that we were ready for God to bless us with a family when he was ready, so we would no longer prevent it from happening. After my first month off birth control we found out on June 16 (the day before Father's day) that I was 5 weeks pregnant! Wow, as if I needed any other sign from God that we were ready! We couldn't be more happy! I have been waiting for this day since I met him. So now the countdown officially begins!
